Glossary

- Dhamma(dhamma)
- The teaching of the Buddha; also: phenomenon, mental object, law.
- Khandha(khandha)
- Aggregate; the five groups of clinging that constitute a person.
- Mettā(mettā)
- Loving-kindness; the wish for the welfare and happiness of all beings.
- Nibbāna(nibbāna)
- The unconditioned; the cessation of greed, hatred and delusion.
- Paṭiccasamuppāda(paṭiccasamuppāda)
- Dependent origination; the conditioned arising of phenomena.
- Saṅgha(saṅgha)
- The community of monastics; the noble community of realized beings.
- Sutta(sutta)
- A discourse attributed to the Buddha or his disciples.
- Vinaya(vinaya)
- The code of monastic discipline.
